Energy Show 2009
The Energy Show 2009 Organised by Sustainable Energy Ireland (SEI) will be held at the RDS Main Hall, Dublin
This business to business event is a must for anyone with a professional interest in or responsibility for energy use.
Registration for the Exhibition has now closed. You can register on the day. Entrance is free to the Exhibition on production of trade ID.
Now firmly established as the showcase event for Ireland’s energy sector, this year’s event follows the highly successful format of previous years. A cutting edge technology and trade exhibition with leading Irish and European product and service suppliers will showcase the very latest in energy innovation offering visitors a unique experience in seeking low energy solutions for buildings and the opportunity to engage those experts leading the energy sector both here and abroad.
New this year is a special feature exhibition of electric and hybrid vehicle options for businesses. Fleet owners and operators can view the latest models available in the market from large trucks, to cargo vans and cars. Visitors can learn how their business could benefit from such high efficiency vehicles.
Green building has moved mainstream as demand grows for the utilization of construction products, materials, and techniques that minimize waste, improve air quality, increase energy efficiency and protect the environment. Today, we are seeing the emergence of extraordinary standards of energy performance into the mainstream of building construction across Ireland as well as the unprecedented level of uptake of renewable energy technologies for building services.
Attendees at this year’s show can learn about how to reduce their own energy costs and see how the latest sustainable energy technologies on the market can benefit their business. In addition to the trade exhibition, a special seminar programme will also take place, where attendees can hear from leading Irish and international experts on key energy topics, including the move towards zero carbon buildings and opportunities which exist in emerging renewable technologies. Best practice case studies from Ireland and abroad will also be presented.
Seminar numbers are limited so to avoid disappointment it is highly recommended that you book early. In previous years the number of people wishing to attend the seminars exceeded the places available.
The seminars will be of particular interest to the Building Industry, Architects, Engineers, Energy Consultants and Assessors, Developers and Installers, Local Authority Planners & Engineers, Agenda 21 Officers, Housing and Building Departments, Housing Associations, Universities & Research Organisations, Government Departments and NGO’s concerned with environmental, housing, and energy issues etc.

Commercial and Public Irish Buildings – Building Tomorrow’s Solutions Today
Ireland has faced and continues to deal with, rising energy costs and the environmental consequences that come from traditional energy sources. This has brought about a fundamental rethink in the way we design, construct and operate buildings. Building ‘green’ has evolved and is fast becoming the preferred choice providing high quality, high efficiency, dynamic and cost effective solutions for consumers and businesses. This session takes a closer look at best practice and award winning case studies in Ireland and abroad.
Earth, Water, Wind and Fire – Ireland’s Transition to Fuelling the Future
Ireland has enjoyed record economic growth in recent years, growing by over 150% since 1992. Energy policy is now vitally important, not only due to its role in fuelling the engine of the economy, but also given its centrality in how we manage and protect our environment and respond to climate change. In this context, energy policy and environmental policy are seen as two sides of the same coin. This seminar focuses on developing pioneering sustainable technologies such as micro-generation energy technologies, ocean, hydrogen and electric vehicles.
Thursday 30th April
Small and Medium Organisations – The Proven Route to Tackling Energy Use
Companies should apply a structured approach to energy management as experience shows there is a clear sequence of events that brings the best results. Small and medium sized organisations starting out in energy management can easily achieve a 20% reduction in their energy use by simple, good housekeeping measures alone. Once commitment is established further savings can be achieved by smart investments.
Energy Efficiency in Irish Industry – Breaking the Barriers to Success
In 2008, Special Working Groups were formed by SEI with collaborating companies to focus on four special initiatives. These initiatives were designed to address significant energy users in large industry and the application of alternative methodologies that can greatly influence long term energy performance.
Member companies were drawn form SEI’s Energy Agreements programme and included some of Ireland’s largest energy users.
