With CREDIT Dundalk
This course is delivered by staff from the Centre for Renewable Energy at Dundalk
Institute of Technology and is directed at those who are interested in becoming familiar with renewable energy and those wishing to install a renewable energy system in their home or small business. There is a limit of twenty people in this class.
Dundalk Institute of Technology has recently installed a number of domestic scale renewable energy technologies in its plumbing lab as part of the Renewable Energy Installer Academy.
There is also a large scale comercial wind turbine on the campus. The operation of these systems will be demonstrated as part of the course.
Course Content:
- Introduction to Energy, Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency
- Solar Hot Water systems and Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Systems
- Heat Pumps – Ground Source, Air Source and Water Source
- Biofuels – Wood Pellet and Wood chip burners, Stoves and boilers
- Wind Energy – Large and Small Scale Wind power systems
Date: Saturday June 20th, Saturday June 27th
First day will be held at Sonairte, Laytown and the second day will be held in Dundalk IT, in order to demonstrate the technologies.
Time: 10am – 5pm
Cost: €200
